1. Artificial Intelligence (AI) Content

AI Distribution

AI-generated content created wholly or primarily by AI models trained on copyrighted sound recordings may not be distributed without a license from the applicable owners.

  • Failure to comply with this rule will result in removal from the release and will negatively affect your scorecard.

  • If a platform requires it, you must properly label any content that includes AI-generated elements.

Distributing content that imitates identifiable artists through the use of AI voice cloning (e.g. "AI Drake" or "AI Bad Bunny" style releases) is prohibited.

2. Ownership and Copyright

Cannot distribute:

  • Third Party Content: Tracks whose rights you do not control (or, in the case of an old catalog, you have never controlled).

  • Samples: Tracks with unauthorized or uncleaned samples.

  • Derived versions: Remixes, mashups, sped up versions, slowed down versions or other derivative versions, unless you control the original version or have the corresponding distribution license.

  • DJ mixes: Unless you control the rights to all the tracks in the mix or have it licensed for commercial release.

3. Content that resembles third parties

  • Soundalikes: Sound imitations of other artists.

  • Karaoke: Unless you control the original recording.

  • Re-records: Only if you control the underlying composition and comply with:

    1. Clear differentiation in the metadata using the Version field (e.g. "(Re-record)", "(Version 2026)").

    2. The artist name and artwork should not confuse the consumer with the original.

    3. New ISRC: A unique ISRC must be assigned; you cannot reuse the one from the original recording.

  • Remasters and Live Recordings: Unless you control the original studio recording.

4. Misleading Names and Art

  • Confusing names: Artist names that could be confused with famous artists, even with intentional misspellings (e.g. "Tylor Swift", "Bad Bonny").

  • Forbidden: * Include advertising, URLs, prices or keywords (SEO) in titles or art.

    • Generic names like "Relaxing Music", "Rain Sounds" or "Sleep Baby".

    • Emojis in titles, artist names or lyrics.

Cover Art (Artwork)

  • Requested: High resolution, square format, original and without copyright infringement.

  • Forbidden: Barcodes, QR codes, price tags, or references to DSPs (e.g. "Available on Spotify").

Audio

  • Requested: Correctly coded final masters. No watermarks or promotional audios.

  • Forbidden: More than 10 seconds of silence at the beginning or end. Incomplete or corrupt tracks.

7. Unwanted or Repetitive Content

Although not always prohibited, DSPs may reject or eliminate:

    • Duplicates: Reusing old ISRCs in new files to inherit streaming history, or delivering the same track under multiple UPCs excessively.
