When uploading a release, you can enter the Spotify, Apple Music, and Facebook Artist IDs to make sure your content is linked to the correct artist profiles. This is essential for avoiding mis-linking issues, which can cause your release to be associated with the wrong artist on DSPs.
If you’re adding an artist for the first time, a pop-up window will appear. First, select the DSP, then choose the correct artist from the automatically generated list.
If you don’t see your profile in the list, you can copy the Artist ID directly from the DSP and paste it into the "Artist ID" field.
If you need to create a new artist profile, leave all ID fields empty and request the profile creation by writing to [email protected]. Make the request as soon as you submit the release, to allow enough time for the profile to be created before the release is published. You can also add or edit Artist IDs at any time from the Artists section by finding the relevant artist and updating their IDs.
Keep in mind that URI updates are not sent automatically to DSPs. If an incorrect Artist ID was entered and needs to be corrected after delivery, write to [email protected] and we will correct it manually.
