Spotify has launched the beta version of its new Artist Protection Program (APP), a security feature integrated within the Spotify for Artists dashboard. This tool is designed to give creators absolute control over what is published under their name, preventing incorrect profile assignments (mismatches), metadata errors, or unauthorized releases.
🚀 How to Enable the Artist Protection Program?
- Log in to your Spotify for Artists account.
- Navigate to your profile settings.
- Locate the "Artist Profile Protection" option.
- Toggle the switch to enable the protection program.
How does it work?
Once activated, the system monitors any delivery to Spotify listing you as a primary artist, collaborator, or featured guest. Instead of publishing directly, the release will pass through a verification filter:
- Real-time Notifications: You will receive a alert every time a new release containing your name is delivered to Spotify.
- Approvals Tab: A new dashboard within Spotify for Artists where you can manually review, approve, or reject pending releases. You will also see a history of already pre-approved content.
- Unique Automation Key: Spotify will assign you a unique verification key. Soon, you will be able to share this key with 1M Music when uploading your release so that we can include it in the metadata, making approvals 100% automatic.
